About me

My Story

When I was 18, I spent 3 months volunteering in a school and orphanage in Ghana. Returning from this trip I noticed my gut health was poor and was diagnosed with IBS.  This manifested over years into more severe health conditions including SIBO and food intolerances and with medication not helping, I deep dived into nutrition and the gut to understand why this was happening. 

Over this period, I also suffered from severe depression, anxiety, and panic attacks manifesting as hyperventilation, seizures and paralysis.  I decided on therapeutic approaches including hypnotherapy and counselling to improve my mental health.

I travelled a lot during this time and after qualifying as a Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer, I eventually moved to Hong Kong to coach whilst studying a BSc in Nutritional Therapy.  It was during this period I honed my skills as a Coach and Personal Trainer and deepened my understanding of the body and the impact exercise has on the gut and brain.

I am passionate about improving the way we live our lives and how we age, incorporating physical activity, sleep, stress management, nutrition, and social interactions.

Having spent over 12 years dealing with gut-related issues and poor mental health before qualifying and specialising in these areas, I want to provide everyone with the information they need to improve their own health.

I have an evidence-based, holistic approach focusing on behaviour change as well as education, because what good is having the information if you don’t know how to apply it to your life?

 My training:

  • MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour from Bournemouth University (currently undertaking)

  • First BSc (Hons) degree in Nutritional Therapy from the University of West London

  • Neuroplasticity Diploma

  • Registered with the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT)

  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Registration

  • Practitioner of Advanced Nutrigenomics & Nutrigenetics from The Nutrigenomics Institute

  • Fitness Coach & Personal Trainer Level 3
